This 3-day, 2-night deep dive into Japanese culture is about more than sightseeing. Via the numerous experiences on the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with local people, history, and culture. You’ll uncover the hidden story of the first samurai to visit America, which just might change your perception of modern Japan. Each experience will help reveal how samurai culture has influenced Japan today, and provide insight into the values that form the foundation of modern Japanese society. Last but not least, each meal is a culinary adventure that will let you savor the best of local foods and traditions.

Day 1
・Tozenji Temple – the long-buried story of one of the first samurai to set foot on U.S. soil.
・Makino Brewery – sake tasting at the oldest brewery in Gunma Prefecture.
・Ikaho Onsen – a stay at a traditional Japanese inn in a retro onsen town.
Day 2
・Shojin Cuisine Lunch – a modern take on traditional Buddhist monk fare.
・Samurai Experience – a hands on experience of the Samurai Way in its modern form of Kendo.
・Sukiyaki Course Dinner – a culinary celebration of local ingredients, classic flavors, and new techniques.
Day 3
・Daruma Workshop Tour and Painting Experience – an introduction to the local specialty and nationwide phenomenon of Daruma dolls.
