🌿 What’s in store 🌿

Day 1
・Meet your guide at the Oshimizuguchi park entrance.

・Climb the challenging Sanpeitoge Pass to reach Lake Ozenuma.
ーThis is the longest approach route into Oze, approximately 6.5 km one way and about 3 hours on foot.
ーAfter crossing the bridge beyond Ichinose, the trail immediately turns left and climbs steadily along a winding mountain path known as the “Twelve Bends.”
ーA spectacular viewpoint awaits where Lake Ozenuma reflects the iconic Mt. Hiuchigatake—especially beautiful at sunset and ideal for stargazing.

・The Innkeepers of Oze
― A caretake of one of Oze’s many mountain huts shares memories of the past, and visions for the future of land stewardship in the park.

Day 2
・Morning departure for the Ozegahara marshland
ーExplore Ozegahara, the largest highland marsh in Honshu, stretching approximately 6 km east to west and 2 km north to south.

・The Sherpas of Oze
― Experience the unique tradition of Oze’s “bokkas”, the sherpas of Oze who carry supplies through the mountains into the park. Listen to their story and gain insight into their strength, resilience, and pride.

Day 3
・Mt. Shibutsu Guided Hike
― Learn about the plant and wildlife of Mt. Shibutsu and what steps are being taken to protect it on this guided hike of one of Oze’s most famous mountains.
